Leading change in a socio-economic research centre
CEPS/INSTEAD is seeking to recruit a new director with a two-fold responsibility: Next to providing day-to-day scientific and administrative leadership and management, the future incumbent will offer strategic leadership and vision for its change process to create a healthy, modern, and striving research institution.
This role is crucial for the future development of the organisation, and to strengthen its reputation in the international research community. S/he will be an ambassador for CEPS/INSTEAD to stakeholders in Luxembourg and the international scientific community.
Candidates bring a strong academic track record in the wider socio-economic field and excellent management skills, ideally in the area of basic and applied research. S/he brings an entrepreneurial mindset, an innovative spirit and the drive to shape an institution for the future. Exceptional communication and leadership skills and the ability to build and mentor diverse teams are essential to the role. Knowledge of the Luxembourgish and wider European socio-economic research community would be an asset. Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build lasting partnerships will complement a flexible, diplomatic and engaging working style. CEPS/INSTEAD is a public socio-economic research institute based in Luxembourg. Established in 1989, it conducts basic and applied interdisciplinary research in the field of socio-economic policy from a national and international perspective. Its mission is to serve the government as well as public and private institutions in Luxembourg with advice and guidance on matters touching upon its areas of research. In addition, CEPS offers a post-graduate program (IMPALLA) on socioeconomic research in cooperation with four other universities in Europe. CEPS/INSTEAD is currently embarking on a fundamental change process, with the ambition to sharpen its profile and become an internationally renowned institution in its field.
